Moving Deer Ears and Tail are motorized, animatronic deer ears on an adult-size headband, with a 25 cm (9.8 in) wagging tail that moves on its own remote. The ears react as you tilt and turn your head (6 modes) and run for up to about 5 hours per charge. Available as ears only, tail only or the set, with free delivery to 237 countries.

Motion-sensing deer ears with antlers, and a matching faux fur tail. A gravity sensor in the headband tracks how you hold and turn your head, and the ears fold, flick and rotate on their own while you wear them. No app, no account, no Bluetooth pairing.

The headband carries both parts of the look: a pair of long deer ears in brown fur with a soft pink inner, and a pair of antlers set between them. The tail is the short upright deer tail, brown on top and cream underneath.

Where to wear them

  • Best suited to: deer, fawn and cervine fursonas, therian and quadrobics gear, forest and fae costume builds, kemonomimi outfits, conventions, Halloween, and photo shoots.
  • Events: conventions and cosplay events, festivals and renaissance fairs, and theatre and stage shows, the occasions our customers and other wearers mention most.
  • Live streaming and video: ears that move with your head show up on camera.
  • A full day out: up to about 5 hours per charge, and the ears keep running from a power bank in your pocket.
  • Gifts: several of our reviews come from people who bought a pair for someone else.

Key specs

  • Movement: 6 modes. Gravity sensing (the ears react as you tilt and turn your head) plus 5 built-in patterns: outward fold, forward fold, rapid fold, alternating left/right fold and alternating left/right rotation.
  • Battery: 450 mAh in the headband. About 1 hour to charge over USB-C; up to about 5 hours of movement per charge. It keeps running while plugged in to a power bank.
  • Controls: one button on the band. Hold it to switch on or off, press it to change mode. No app, no Bluetooth.
  • Sound: quiet, not silent. The motors make a soft sound you can hear up close in a quiet room.
  • Tail: about 25 cm (9.8 in) long, moves on its own, controlled with its own remote, charges over USB-C. Sold with the ears as a set, or on its own.
  • Fit: adult-size headband. The ears slide along the band to set the spacing, and it sits over a wig. A smaller headband is available on request.
  • Weather: not waterproof. Keep them out of rain and snow.
  • Delivery: free to 237 countries. Made to order: 1–2 weeks to make, then 7–14 days in the post.
  • Model: LE-ET-DEER

How they compare

  • Compared with static ear headbands: these move, with 6 modes including gravity sensing that follows your head, but they need charging: up to about 5 hours per charge, about 1 hour to recharge.
  • Compared with brainwave-reading ears: nothing here reads brainwaves or needs a forehead sensor. The ears respond to the angle of your head, which you control.
  • Compared with app-controlled ears: no phone, no app and no Bluetooth pairing. One button on the band switches them on and changes the mode.
  • Compared with ordinary costume tails: this tail moves on its own, from its remote, instead of only swinging when you walk.

Choose ears, tail, or both

  • Ears only. The motorised ears and the antlers on their headband, with the mounting tape included.
  • Tail only. The short deer tail on its own, in fur that matches the ears.
  • Ears and tail set. Both pieces, cut from the same fur so the browns match.

Pick the option above before adding to cart. The price on the button updates to match.

How the ears move

Six modes. In gravity-sensing mode a sensor in the headband reads the tilt and turn of your head, and the ears answer your movement. The other five are built-in patterns that run on their own: outward fold, forward fold, rapid fold, alternating left/right fold and alternating left/right rotation. Hold the button on the band to switch on or off; press it to move to the next mode.

The tail

The tail moves too. It runs separately from the headband and you control it with its own remote, so the ears and the tail can be doing different things at the same time. It charges over USB-C. It is about 25 cm (9.8 in) long.

Wearing them

Two ways: as a headband, or fixed straight onto a fursuit head with the mounting tape in the box. The ears slide along the band, so you set how far apart they sit and they sit correctly over a wig. The headband is adult size; if you need a smaller one, message us before you order.

Questions people ask

How long do moving deer ears last on one charge? Up to about 5 hours of movement per charge. The headband carries a 450 mAh battery that takes about 1 hour to recharge over USB-C, and the ears keep running while plugged in to a power bank, so a long convention day works with a power bank in your pocket.

Are moving deer ears loud? No, they are quiet, but they are not silent and we will not claim they are. The motors make a soft sound you can hear up close in a quiet room. We do not quote a decibel figure because we have not measured one.

How do motorized deer ears know when to move? They follow the angle of your head. In gravity-sensing mode, 1 of the 6 modes, a sensor in the band reads how you tilt and turn your head and the ears fold, flick and rotate in answer; the other 5 modes are built-in patterns. One button changes the mode. There is no app, no Bluetooth, and nothing reads sound or brainwaves.

Will moving deer ears fit an adult head and sit over a wig? Yes. The standard headband is adult size and sits over a wig like an ordinary headband, and the ears slide along the band so you can set how far apart they sit. If you need a smaller headband, message us before you order.

Can I wear moving deer ears in the rain? No. They are not waterproof, so keep them out of rain and snow, and store them somewhere dry and out of direct sun.

Can I fit moving deer ears to a fursuit head? Yes, with the mounting tape in the box.

Do the fur ear covers come off? Yes. The fur ear covers fasten over the mechanism with hook-and-loop. When you put one back, line the hook-and-loop up with the motor and leave a little room at the tip, or the fold will not show.

How long is the tail, and how is it controlled? About 25 cm (9.8 in) long, and it moves on its own from its own remote, separately from the ears. It charges over USB-C. You can buy it on its own as Tail only, or with the ears as a set.

Do the antlers come with the ears? Yes. The antlers are on the same headband as the ears, so Ears only and the set both include them.

How long does delivery take, and is it free? Delivery is free and tracked to 237 countries and territories. Each set is made to order: 1–2 weeks to make, then 7–14 days in the post. Customs clearance is included in the free delivery, so import duty and tax are already covered and there is nothing extra to pay when it arrives.

Can I return them? Yes, wherever you are: you have 30 days from the day after your parcel arrives to change your mind. You pay the return postage, and we pay it if something is faulty. The full terms are in our refund policy.

The idea

Gentle, and always aware.

A deer can turn each ear on its own and follow two sounds at once. When something catches its attention, the tail flicks up as a signal to everyone nearby.

Ours borrow both ideas: ears that answer your head and swap sides on their own, and a tail that moves on its own at the press of a button.

Made for you. Every pair is made to order.
